Kannosuke Matsushita is a contemporary artist whose practice centers on the exploration of human identity, perception, and the shifting presence of belief in the modern age. Working primarily with portraiture, he integrates text, symbols, and layered visual disruptions to construct complex psychological and conceptual spaces.

His ongoing series, HUMAN CODE and GOD CODE, examines the instability of the self within an environment saturated by information and contradiction. Words and phrases, such as “who am I?”, “not found”, and “GOD”, are embedded into the surface of his works, functioning not as narrative elements but as fragmented signals that challenge interpretation.

Matsushita’s figures appear suspended between presence and dissolution. Through distortion, erasure, and interference, the image resists fixed meaning, reflecting a condition in which identity, belief, and reality remain unresolved.

While his work engages with themes that resonate with philosophical and spiritual traditions, it avoids definitive statements. Instead, it creates a space where ambiguity and tension are sustained, inviting viewers into a direct and personal encounter with uncertainty.

In addition to canvas-based works, Matsushita has developed a multidisciplinary practice that includes live painting, murals, and collaborations in music-related visual production. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Germany, France, and China.

Rather than providing answers, Matsushita’s work proposes a state of ongoing inquiry:
one that reflects the complexity of being human in a fragmented, contemporary world.
