“I am AlinKa, a Moldavian artist based in Rome. Since I was a child, Colour has had the leading role in my works. I was fascinated by its power to bring things to reality. So, I started a continuous match with it, trying different techniques. Oil colours brought us closer. Soon I discovered Tim Burton’s world, dark and full of brightness but at the same time. I began to explore the dichotomy of gloomy environments depicted in shiny colours and I brought it into my artistic world. In 2020, an art commission has undoubtedly marked an important turn in my artistic path. The aim of the project was to express a piece of music through art. By working on it, I discovered that Colour was concealing another hidden power: it was not only able to give shape to reality, but also to unexpressed words. The purpose of my art is to give voice to Colour, to re-veal deeper inner emotions and feelings by playing with it.”
