Bio

20 years old, from Norway

Art is to me both what keeps me grounded and what allows me to dream. Whenever I create, I lose all sense of time, and as a new idea comes to me, I get filled with this won-derful, urgent feeling that tells me I have to transfer it onto the canvas. People often look at my art and tell me in surprise: “you have so many different styles!” – but that is simply the way I express myself. Art is my outlet for everything I am feeling, especially when I cannot find the words to say them aloud. Therefore I love experimenting with different mediums and techniques to find the best ways to express exactly how I feel in the mo-ment. Something that does, however, connect all of my different styles, is the colours. I usually go for a vibrant palette as I find great inspiration and power in bright colours and their positive energy. Moreover, I have found that my favourite subject to paint is people. Although art has always been an essential part of me, it was not until two years ago that I truly discovered the powerful expressions I can create through portrait painting. I love exploring how to convey stories through my work, and my hope is that they can both have an impact on and inspire the viewer. I often marvel at the wonder that my art is never just me; it is also the people who see it. Ever-evolving even after I have made the finishing touches, it becomes something new every time it is seen through a new pair of eyes. I am really excited to share my art with you through this exhibition and I hope that my work will leave an impression.
