Janice was born in 1980 in Mexico City and had lived in Barcelona for the past 17 years.
She is a digestive surgeon who thought had life all figured out until some personal traumatic experiences showed her that some feelings needed to be addressed, so it push her to write a book, take a diploma from the University of Barcelona on Contemporary art mediation and ul-timately led her in to collage, radiographic collage making to be precise.
The idea came from showing the very deepest layers of ourselves: our bones. What if our most painful unfulfilled dreams, hopes, and plans could be seen right through us, in bright joyful col-ors? That’s the main idea behind her work. Since radiography can only be seen with a ne-gatoscope, she takes pictures directly and had them print in methacrylate a material that also has a special meaning to her.
She has a 8 year old daughter and loves hip hop dancing, discipline that she practice on regular basis.
