‘Echo Cosmos’ is inspired by the concept of a forever expanding and collapsing universe. An
idea celebrated in philosophy and religion for thousands of years. How can we sustain our
notions of causality and time in a universe that is doomed to collapse? ‘Echo Cosmos’ takes
the firm stance that even in an expanding and collapsing universe, determinism remains
unproven. In this repetition new meaning can still be found. To the artists, the painting
represents that creation is the singular law that drives regression and expanse to generate
new worlds and new meaning.
