My name is Elly Voogt-van Ginkel, I am 61 years old, and I live in Scherpenzeel, in the centre of the Netherlands. I started painting 15 years ago, preferably abstract. Since 2 years I have been looking for what touched me personally and was fascinated by painting with many special materials and structures, (which gives a beautiful 3D effect), and I find it a challenge to try out something new again and again. I have attended several seminars which gave me the opportunity to research this technique. I use acrylic paint, marble flour, stains, rust, pastes, inks etc.... (mixed media). I paint on canvas but also on wooden panels. My inspiration mostly comes from nature, which is reflected in my use of color, these colors give peace and are in balance. Painting gives me a lot of relaxation.
