Bio
My name is Eva Lamaignere, I am a young self-taught artist from the South-West of France with a passion for drawing and painting. During my childhood I discovered the pleasure of drawing, mainly portraits, then in adolescence painting. I started painting with acrylic, with the technique of the knife, because I appreciated the aggressive gestures that this tech-nique brings, it allowed me to let go completely. For several months I paint exclusively with a brush and always make very colorful portraits. What I like most about portraits are the looks and expressions they send back. I really like this quote of Georges Bernanos: "What the voice can hide, the eyes will set it free." I am a pretty energic person but when I paint I feel good, soothed and I feel like time is no longer passing. A few weeks ago I had a hard time showing others my paintings because I thought they would have no interest and because I was afraid of criticism but today thanks to my relatives I completely let go the fear and I’ve been already able to exhibit my works in a gallery in France. Let's put color in our lives!
