Olga Shumilova My name is Olga Shumilova aka Olga Shuma. I was born in the north of Russia. My father was an artist and musician. So it’s no surprise that I have been painting and singing for as long as I can remember. Now I paint more than I sing, but music always inspires me and plays a big role in my life. As a child, I studied at an art school, but received my higher education in sociocultural activity. Later I went back to art anyway. I love to find the beautiful in the ugly, the unusual in the ordinary and create something interesting out of nothing. I also like to use various interesting techniques in my works, as well as materials, such as sand, coffee, glue, plaster of paris, fabric, in general, everything that comes to my hand. I paint mostly intuitively and love when the end result surprises me. Art is my way of expressing my emotions, my view of the world. And I love to share it with other people.
