Bio

Ryan Andrew Bogedin Cerebral expressionism could be a way to describe the set of art works by M.A.D.S. featured artist, Ryan Andrew Bogedin. This collection shows an objective look at textures and the general tone of each composition. He intends to not focus on a subjective landscape or figure, but hopes that the art can find some order from an otherwise perceived surrounding chaos. The intent put into most of his works is to give an overall feeling of optimism. Bold bright colors are used to accent and contrast, all while giving an elated feeling of weightlessness. Strikes of jagged splashes and swirls of the etheric cosmos might be inspiring and show hope. His process often goes through phases. This method of experimentation and iteration is to ensure that he is always adding techniques and styles, so long as they work well together and towards an otherwise grand context or goal. Bogedin lives in Tunkhannock Pennsylvania, United States with his two wonderful children. He is a graduate of Marywood University’s school of architecture with a bachelor’s degree of Environmental Design in Architecture. He has a professional chef certificate from the Culinary Institute of America, is certified as a real estate agent in the state of Pennsylvania, and is a certified permaculture designer from the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. He also enjoys writing and recording music from his home studio. He began painting oil landscapes in the early 2000’s after being inspired by the views from his loft apartment of the surrounding town and the region’s natural beauty. Oil paints are his medium of choice, but he often uses a mix of other mediums such as acrylics, fibers, plaster, crystals, concrete, silicon, sand, and even guitar strings!
