Unique NFT of Gregory Logan Dunn's 2019 acrylic on canvas painting Augur and Recoil. When terrible events transpire, these echo through the years to not only form history but memory that is carried with pain and weight of understanding and empathy. When something occurs that is so traumatic that it is a generational event like 9/11, it is like the recoil from a gun, creating a psychic resonance that not only travels forward in time but backward. We gather and interpret this as dread, anxiety, and premonition. Unlike our future counterparts, we have no capacity to under-stand what has not yet happened. The cerulean blue skies of September should never cause the hand to shake or the chest to tighten in this early dawn of Fall.
