Bio

Alexander Weyrauch. Born in 1986 and raised in Cologne. He currently lives with his wife Mirijam and dog Wilma on Lake Starnberg near Munich Style description: abstract, loud, colorful, expressive, warm, emotional, intense, strong, lively, noticeable, The first time I held a paintbrush in my hand, I was 34 years old. For some, it’s late. The perfect time for me. The death of a loved one a few years ago made me see the world only in black and white. I went on a journey to feel the joy of life again. I want-ed to see the colors glow again. And that’s how I found painting. Maybe painting found me too. So, one night I stood in front of a blank canvas. I had never dealt with styles or artists before. I did not think. Just felt. I painted all night. That was the beginning of a new journey. With every picture that I was able to bring onto a canvas of my soul, I found a little more peace. More joie de vivre. Since then, I have been painting almost every day. Often all night long. I am often asked what I was thinking about my pictures. But that is exactly the point. Nothing. Just feelings. Positive as well as negative. I can’t paint what I don’t feel. The last year was a single development process. I have dealt with the works of art by artists such as Leon Löwentraut, Sabine Runge, Mareike Heidmann, John Beckley, Gerhard Richter and many other contemporary artists. You look at their pictures and feel the emotions and en-ergy. Can literally taste it. It is my goal to convey this feeling to people with my pictures. A brief mo-ment filled to the brim with warmth, passion, joie de vivre, hope. All that I’ve been missing for so long. My wish for the future would be… to paint. Every day. For the rest of my life. And when I can share my passion for art with others, I would be all the more grateful.
