The texture is created by the multi-layered application of individual layers of paint and the use of sandstone and clay from the surrounding area.
The work was executed with brush, palette knife, later with charcoal pencil and edding pen.

For many years I have been dealing with the question of what happens when we die.
The dissolving woman with her child in her arms stands for transience on the one hand and for what remains on the other. Thoughts, feelings, conversations - Immortalis!
In memory of the mothers and children thought lost to death.
