Eva Martínez Monje is a Spanish self-taught artist who began painting and sculpting innately at an early age, although she took up her passion later in life.
Her art is inspired by her deep love for life and freedom and the trust in the loving part of the human being, together with her admiration for birds and her dream and desire to fly like a bird. Most of her works are also focused on the sensuality and strength innate in women and their natural ability to give unconditional love to others: as mothers, sisters, friends, lovers… a source of never-ending love.
She also tries to portray in her artworks the immense and infinite power of the soul, many times represented in the form of a bird, mainly a phoenix bird “a powerful soul always finds a way” Music is also an important trigger and source of inspiration in Eva, her art is deeply connected with the magic effect that music plays in her as a way of allowing her to dive into her inner feeling gifting her the powerful sense of floating in the scenery where space, age or time vanish, placing herself into a warm bubble of joy, happiness and beautiful dreams, which inspire most of her artworks.
Her deep imaginary world drinks from her subconscious mind which flies directly from her mind to the paper with no mind filters in between, no barriers, no prejudices, no boundaries, just pure atavic deep feelings arising… and that’s for her the ultimate ecstasy for the artist: to be able to create an inner personal world outside any conditioning, just a space of freedom of feeling arising, sheltered from the music and that’s art for Eva, that overwhelming flow of energy arising from soul to paper.
