Yu Kuei was born and raised in Taiwan, a chocolatier for years and a self-taught abstract artist from very recent days.
She studied biochemistry in Taiwan but changed to pastry world in France, later worked in Brazil for years then started to focus being a chocolatier while moving back to Taiwan. She started to paint since 2021 while a big depression came during these times living in Macau, therefore painting became a therapy for her, it helps her to be calmed, to express her feelings and to relieve her depression. Her paintings usually combine various patterns and styles but they mostly just behave who she is and to tell how she perceives at the moment. As a chocolatier in daily life is an alternative performance of art as well, so she is grateful that she founds another path to represent herself, a 40 years adult with life experiences in different countries, still tend to explore the new field, to learn any possibility being creative, and to discover new sides in different pathways.
