William Underwood is an artist and chef living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Originally from a small farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, William has been consistently practicing some art form since the age of fourteen. He was a ballet dancer through his teenage years but started cooking after sustaining a hip injury. William is currently taking a sabbatical from cooking to devote more of his time to develop his career as an artist and focus on his own health and mental well-being.

Artist Statement
William says he owes much of his perspective as a creative to his wife and daughter, add-ing that, “being married, and especially having a child, has caused me to explore different ideas and rethink some of the past conclusions I have come to. Art is more of a way for me to explore my own mind than anything. Creating is essential for me to process thoughts and emotions.”
