Cosimo Ricotta was born in Aliminusa (Sicily, Italy), graduated in architecture and later moved to Milan. A great lover of the visual arts, he began his artistic experience in the field of photography with a preference for landscape portraits whether a natural place, domestic or contemporary architectural space. After some time, he approached painting, developing a personal technique that, by abstracting from reality only the essential lines and shapes, succeeds in representing the salient features of the place, imprinting the re-produced image with a strong inner connotation. Sharp contours, geometric shapes and strong color contrasts with use of primary colors spread evenly, contribute to highlight a personal point of view of the subject represented in an almost metaphysical way.
