Sara is a mixed media artist living in Thomasville, Georgia. She is a self-taught artist who works in a shared studio space just down the street from her home. She has found comfort in and been sharply attuned to nature throughout her life. Nature is frequently the subject of her work. As a young adult, Sara’s eccentric views, experiences, and ideas were frequently squelched or reined in by her conservative family. Without the support of her family, Sara learned to see everything around her as a material she could use in her work. Her learned resourcefulness is now a center piece in all her work. Nearly 100% of the materials she uses are second hand. When Sara is creating, nothing is off limits. If you look closely at her work, you may be surprised what you find. To Sara, art means freedom, acceptance, and healing.
