Bio

Janna has been interested in art for as long as she can remember. She is an aesthetician with an interest in everything that is beautiful, be it art and design, architecture, interior, music, litera-ture, people, nature, garden, food; all of which she is inspired and influenced by. Janna has dur-ing the recent years felt an increasing need to create; to express herself apart from writing and home and garden design. So two years ago she picked up a painting brush for the first time, and now she never stops! Because she finds great joy, peace, and an indescribable contentment when working in front of an easel. When someone asks her about her painting style, she finds it difficult to answer, because placing an expression in a boot, when you - like she - is autodidact, self-taught, is not easy. But she would say that she might be influenced by the Impressionists in that she mostly paints moods here and now, and in that she always tries to bring out the light in her paintings. Other influences within that direction - or any other - is hard to say anything about, other than that she is a big fan of the use of color by - among others - Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Édouard Manet. She works intuitively, and uses colors, movement, different tools, materials and techniques in one and the same painting, layer upon layer, in her need to express moods, emotions and impressions that affect her. Janna stresses that she needs to say that she is humble in relation to the “concept of art”, and although art is so much, she finds it a bit difficult to call herself an artist. But yet does she strongly believe, and therefore strongly wants to express this: Art is for everyone! Not just for an elite who invokes understanding and insight, and who collects expensive objects to “show who they are!”. Color, shape, function, moods...We are all influenced by different expressions. If one of her paintings affects herself - or you, if it makes you feel joy, sadness, melancholy, anger, maybe evoke memories...that is what is important to her! If one of her paintings fits into your interior; yes, that is great too - if that is what you want by buying an artwork from Janna!
