Description: All men know that they must die, mortality is an inevitable condition from which no one can truly escape. The terror of this condition led him to seek a solution, a way to escape Mortality. He would be willing to sacrifice anything to achieve the much desired immortality; by the time he reaches the Transcendence of Mortality, he will have sacrificed what is most dear to him. Immortality is mistakenly conceived in the eternity of the pleasure of life, but it is realized in the drama of eternal pain. In his romance with mortal life, the Immortal Man is dead to his immortal nature. Man in his mortality seeks the answer to his most complex questions, hoping to find it in the Transcendence; in immortality he finds himself in conflict with everything, literally drowning in his own insecurity that a true end will never have. Nothing is sure in this world but Death; but if Death ceases to be a certainty, what are we left with? The dilemma of immortality is disarming and unable to answer our most tormenting questions but in return it requires an enormous sacrifice, which is then no longer possible to escape: peace.
