Born in Cape Town 1967, I studied painting at Hugo Naude Art School from 1983 – 1985 as part of my High School studies. In 1986 I did a foundation course at Ruth Prowse School of art in Cape Town. My first job was as an artist for a screen printing company doing logo design, t-shirt design and textile design in the old-school manner with a reproduction camera and hand cutting film. Over the years I have worked in the antique furniture business, antiquarian books, and guesthouse management and have travelled to South America, South East Asia and Europe. The sea side town where I live has been a favourite home town to many well-known South African artists and writers, it has remained an inspiration.
