Laura Strēle, born and raised in Latvia, is a young up-and-coming artist focused on multi-ple mediums, particularly photography, who moved to the UK to pursue a degree in Fine Art. She captures intimate moments of nature, street photography and landscapes. Through her art, Laura has found a way to appreciate the little things in life. Her works al-low her to explore new places and image-making techniques, inviting the viewer to con-nect and see nature in diverse ways. Some of her images can't go without colour, even though she creates most of her photos in black and white since it lets the viewer see the picture in its purest form and focus on lines, shapes, texture, and contrast.


Artistic Statement

My creative work includes photography, painting, drawing and digital media. In my art, I capture precious moments in different places. Diverse mediums allow me to express oth-er times. As an artist, I gain practice to develop the artworks that speak to me and others about the beauty around us and subjects that matter nowadays. I create artwork to ex-press myself and connect and communicate with the viewer as well, and I have the desire to lift up things that often go unseen or unnoticed. Part of my process is to soak up every emotion I'm feeling at that exact moment and stay focused to have time to capture it and don't let it pass.
