Jeremy "JJ" Snowden is a mixed media artist and filmmaker born and raised in the San Francis-co Bay Area, CA. He grew up drawing characters and imaginary creatures inspired by Sunday comics and the natural surroundings of his home. His film work includes award-winning music videos, short films, and dance videos. After high school he continued to develop his talents by studying acrylic painting and filmmaking at UC Berkeley and printmaking at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston under their graduate MFA film / video program. His experimental work is inspired by diverse areas such as Japanese woodblocks, Bauhaus, and the powerful earth tones of the American Southwest. With his practice he seeks to dance between elements of the surreal, reflective and the hypnotic. He has debuted his work in multiple galleries and auctions in San Francisco, New England and Berkeley, CA. Recently, he has taken interest in creating work based intranscendental art and sacred geometry.
