Bio

Igniting a Light of Hope with the classical Tempera Techniques of the Medieval Ages. Yuko Sagisaka was born in 1961 in Fuji, Shizuoka. At the age of 5, she was inspired by the warmth portrayed by the Madonna and Child artwork by Raphael. She graduated from the Junior Col-lege Department of Life Art Course at Tokai University. The theme ofher artworks is “uncondi-tional love,” which describes the world connected through love. Using a board as support, she uses the techniques, “Classical Tempera Technique with a Gold Background,” which was an art technique commonly used during the late Medieval Ages and the Renaissance Period, and “Oil painting and Tempera Technique,” which was commonly used during the Northern Renaissance Period. She started a series based on the motifs of prayer and healing through art. Amid uncer-tainty in the world during the COVID-19 pandemic, she continues to create works to keep the light of hope alive. She hopes that her work will bring tranquility to the hearts of those who view it. In 2021, she published a picture book called “Presence,The world is oneness with love” based on the theme “everything is connected by love.” Her works have been in many exhibitions abroad in cities such as New York, Paris, and shanghai, with some even being added to the col-lection of the Royal Family of Monaco and others being presented to the Pope.【Solo Exhibi-tion】1996 Aoyama Fairy - Tokyo, Japan/ Gallery Ishigami - Shizuoka, Japan / depot 103 - Fuji, Japan / 2000 Le Sporting exhibition hall - Monte Carlo, Monaco / Aoyama Fairy - Tokyo, Japan / 2001 Amore SerenateⅠ / Arte Giappone - Milan, Italy / Charleston hotels - Spoleto, Italy / 2002 Granship - Shizuoka, Japan / Civic Cultural Hall - Tokyo, Japan / 2004 Tokyo Marine Gallery - Tokyo, Japan / 2005 Tokyo Marine Gallery - Tokyo, Japan / 2006 Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum / Tokyo Marine Gallery - Tokyo, Japan / 2007 Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum - Tokyo, Japan / 2008 Bunkyo Civic Center Gallery Civic - Tokyo, Japan
