She painted ‘Innocence’ when she was going through a dark time with her family experiencing a mass shooting. They were fortunately unharmed, however the world at that time seemed like a bleak place. She wanted to bring back a feeling of Iightheartedness and playfulness into her life. Through this painting she was saying ‘no’ to fear and ‘yes!’ to light and hope.
