Bio

Petra Forman Austrian abstract artist, born 1968 near Vienna, I live and work in Croatia, on the Dalmatian Adriatic south coast in Korcula in my beautiful outdoor studio. Finding inspiration in nature and the beauty of the Adriatic Sea, my work is translating my emotions into shapes, textures and colors. Looking for depth and intensity, I'm using multiple layers of paint, grainy or rough textures, embracing the beauty of decay by including rust or cracked structures in my paintings and I also like to work with material from the sea, such as wood from the sea, corals or grass from the lake. I am experimenting a lot with rust and self-made marble powder. My inspiration comes from the beauty of life, especially in my art studio in the beautiful Adriatic cost of Korcula with the most beautiful view on earth, which makes me feel in heaven. “Since my childhood I have been creative and enjoyed expressing myself artistically. In the last year, I have rediscovered and cultivated my passion for painting. When I create my artwork, I let myself be inspired by my personal perception of their emotion-filled world. I dive deep into my inner consciousness. My creative process gives rise to expressive compositions of colours and structures.” As a self-taught artist, I started my first artistic steps in 1996, almost 25 years ago and in between I also attended seminars with various artists. My family time, as well as my jobs in the IT Management in DataScience and in the Web and Graphics took me away from my work as an artist. But now since 2020 I have a great focus on my artistic route again. Master's degree in Executive Management MBA - General Management in Vienna. Professionally for many years, first in the web / graphics area, then in IT management in a Berlin BigData / DataScience company.
