Vanessa MacKinnon, VMac, is a biracial multidisciplinary creator from the East Coast of
Canada. She has a love for all things art-related and finds deep meaning in exploring the
creative process. As a visual artist, her work is largely abstract. She loves to play around
with big, bold hues and textures in order to produce elaborate colour stories. V’s work is
informed by the experience of otherness, and search for identity and radical authenticity. She
is interested in investigating notions of truth and meaning, appropriateness, belonging, and
womanhood. She has a special passion for encouraging imagination and community building
