Living for the city

Amidst the steel railings of central Tokyo, a fragment of plant life struggles to grow, echoing the resilience and quiet sorrow of existence in an urban jungle. Much like Stevie Wonder’s Living for the City, where voices speak of human struggle and inequality, this growth questions whether life, non-human yet equally persistent, receives any “fairness” from the structures we impose. These fragile yet determined forms, often unseen by those immersed in concrete and steel, are magnified here as a reminder: we must continually reflect on how we coexist with the environments we create.
