Bio

Being diagnosed with ADHD, I always tended to find myself enjoying the kind of work where I could express myself in a creative way. During lockdown I decided to pick up oil painting, starting with basic landscapes. Surprised by the results, I quickly switched over to a more personal and expressive style in abstract painting. Since I had the most amount of creative freedom to put a part of myself on the canvas, I felt right at home. Painting in abstract forms helps me not only to work through past trauma, but also to turn my experiences, growing up with hardships at a young age, into something inspiring and uplifting. A common thread in my more personal paintings is the emphasis on disorder and chaos that defines my way of thinking, because in all this mess, there is a “method to the madness” as the saying goes. I hope that someone can find something of beauty in my paintings, the same way I did, when I read up on the history of abstract art and its legacy of defying restrictive norms that hinder the system to progress further.
