Description
This piece is one in a series entitled Where shall I go? which were conceived during the 2021 winter lockdown in the UK.
Where shall I go? #1 explores the layers of landscape. The shapes of fields and streets are deli-cately overlaid to encourage new ways of looking at representations of the land and imagine its evolution.
Papers (including vintage map elements) and loose weave textiles have been collaged and painted in a free form process that is then hand embroidered to bring the layers together.
Created at a time of uncertainty and restriction this piece expresses a longing for familiar land-scapes and the hope of future adventures.
