This intimate and powerful photograph challenges simplistic narratives on femininity and motherhood. The female body tells complex and authentic stories, much more often imbued with pain and struggle, too often silenced due to social stigma. In these scars, we recognize and honor the complexity and intrinsic strength of women, going beyond the simple narrative of motherhood to which we are too often associated without our will.
