Ian Dewar (b. 1977, United Kingdom) is a visual artist whose work explores the unseen structures and systems which make up the world around us and how they interact, behave and define our existence. Drawing inspiration and source material from nature, science, the digital world, virtual and real. His work explores these structures and systems (the seen and unseen) to better understand, see and present the idea’s which drive them.
Although predominantly digitally based, real-world sources also fuel Ian’s work. Be it paintings, sketches, sculptures, photography, scientific theory or data. Some things may be brought into the digital realm to use as starting points for digital pieces or to inform and influence throughout the process of creation.
