Bio

In search of abstraction: Agustina Ronconi was born in a little town in Argentina called Rojas, in 1993. Agustina has shown interest in art since she was a child, and it has always been part of her life through self-exploration. She began to go to art workshops and by the age of 15 graduated as a teacher of drawing and painting at the Ibero-American Rossini Institute. She learned techniques with oil, acrylic and mixed. The initial years were purely figurative, as she progressed, she set out to deconstruct the forms. She graduated as an architect from the National University of La Plata in 2019. There, she learned to configure space through tensions, lights, shadows and textures. While studying architecture, she discovered Clorindo Testa, Lina Bo Bardi and Luis Barragán, and began to conceive her paintings through primary shapes and colours, taking up Latin American roots. Agustina’s professional career in architecture has allowed her to merge her knowledge and artistic passion, highlighting the importance of order, proportions and tensions in pursuit of a balanced composition in her work. The artworks she generates are related to the sensations that she wants the viewer to perceive. That is why she began to relate her paintings to poetry, because she feels that they are already artistic disciplines that seek to challenge and question the observer. For this reason, her paintings are named after poems in honour of Argentine poets.
