Time doesn't just pass. It gets performed.

Centuries ago, Guaman Poma, a chronicler, built an entire calendar on that idea not dates, not numbers, but people, doing something together. A month wasn't a block of time sitting still. It was an action waiting to be performed, leaving something behind as it happened. The Earth’s fire…

That's the premise this whole exhibition works from: time as action. Knowledge doesn't live still it lives in the gesture. In the doing. Paired with the ground as an action that moves through and is never neutral. It already holds what happened there before and it carries what happens next.

A performer leaving a visible trace. An artist leaving a mark. Living as mark and trace. How would you disclose the pulse of what you hold as an actual truth, where perspectives converge, eager to be witnessed by an audience always waiting for answers? You have many answers. Let them be known.

Human and place, held as one continuum and not two separate matters.

Call for Artists. We're looking for artworks that perform an idea rather than describing it. Where the mark and trace is the knowledge itself. Where the place you choose already carries memory. Where your piece relate to others in one continuous trace.

Moving through the ground that lives, we leave behind a trace that tells our story. The ground, the Earth… an active living force that sustains… it is HER FIRE that keeps everything performing.
