My name is Jessica, and I am an interior and spatial design student at Edinburgh Napier Univer-sity who wants to pursue a career as a freelance artist and designer. You will see from my work that I am inspired by the world around me. I grew up in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland, moved to Shetand with my family, and I have now been living in Edinburgh for a few years, where I have
developed my love for photography, watercolour painting and digital design. Having had a
passion for art for as long as I can remember, I take my inspiration from the forms of design that surround me every day: fashion, graphics, products, interiors, architecture, and landscapes. I love to paint fashion because it can turn the most casual of outfits into more than just clothes, a piece of art that you can frame and put on your wall. I aim to capture realistic details in my paintings that you wouldn’t always expect to see with watercolour. Using photos as references for my
paintings, usually ones I have taken myself, makes the process and final product feel much more personal to me.
