Helga Jüde

Painter

Bio

The artist Helga Jüde, born in Bonn, discovered her passion for art at a young age. Inspired by old masters, she created her first oil painting at the age of 14, which she painted as part of a competition at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn. Encouraged by the positive feedback from museum visitors, she was driven to complete and submit the painting on the last day. However, oil paint has a long drying process, and she never found out what became of the painting. Due to education, career, family, and personal challenges, her passion was pushed into the background. In the year 2000, she discovered acrylic painting for herself, which was initially a challenge to bring something onto the canvas without a guideline. She asked herself: where do I start? After choosing the colors, she let her emotions run free, and thus her first abstract painting was created. This was followed by the first exhibitions in a savings bank branch and as part of open garden events. After a positive response, she had planned to continue, but unforeseen health reasons forced her to take a long break from creating. Since the end of 2019, not a day has passed without artistic creation. Her passion is to create something new every day and let her creativity run free. Her works are expressions of her emotions. She finds inspiration in music, colors, and various materials. Music plays a significant role in the creative process because it puts her in different moods, which is reflected in the paintings. Observing how a work changes and develops during the creation phase creates a feeling of excitement for the artist. Spontaneously added materials or colors are often the finishing touch that rounds off the painting and makes it a unique piece of art. In 2021, the artist participated in a digital group exhibition titled “COMING OUT,” which could not have been more fitting to present herself as a self-taught artist to a broad audience. This was followed by further international exhibitions and awards in Florence, Milan, Madrid, Paris, Washington, Miami, Venice, and New York. One usually searches in vain for a title of the painting because Helga Jüde wants to give the viewer the freedom of their own interpretation and hopes to evoke feelings and emotions to establish a connection to the artwork. Most of the works can be turned upside down, which is why the signature is located on the back.
