Bio

Blessed in many ways, Priyal Thakkar, also known as ‘Photo Magician’, believes life has been kind, always having good guides at crucial moments. She believes in herself and has faith and trust in good and truth. Creative since childhood, Priyal is a modern day artist, nurtured at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum and Rachana Sansad College of Fine Arts. She is a resourceful, talented and good-hearted person. She successfully ran an organised company of professional photographers’ collective under the name Snapix Photoart after studying photography for two years and working for a photographers’ collective company in Nairobi, Kenya. She has taught photography at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Currently holds photography workshops on aesthetics with Graphy of Unacademy. Her work led to travels which led to discovering Paintographs, which is an exploration between paintings & photographs, invoking a feeling of augmented reality. List of some of her exhibitions are at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, CSMVS (The Prince of Whales Museum), Mumbai, Index by Times of India, Mumbai & at The Metropolitan Pavilion, MET, New York. She has pursued an education in Indian Art History and Curatorial Studies & then worked in a museum consultancy where she curated artistic and cultural content. She has also written for lifestyle magazines on Art. The Iranian Ambassador has felicitated her for her research. The See Me International Art Community in May, 2020 featured her series dedicated to The Covid-19 front line workers. She had worked on a photo collage concept called Covenant Art which is about recording the journey and the meaning of existence, focusing on little pleasures and passions of life that impact and inspire all! It makes one feel proud and good. It brings about a different expression of whom or what one is. It is about telling one's unique stories, in an inspirational manner. This concept won her an award by The Petrichor Touch amongst top 20 artists in India, in January, 2021. Her work is in the wallpaper mural & wall art mediums, in abstract concepts that work positively on one’s neurones adding life, beauty and joy to any space. She’s also working on an abstract series regarding how thoughts and only thoughts determine ones destiny. She is trying to learn singing and started playing golf 3 years ago. She enjoys cooking, is unmarried, lives with family and practices yoga to try to remain fit and balanced! Thank you!
