My name is Simone Ibba and I am a self-taught Italian artist, born in Genoa, and in 2007 I moved to Belgium. The passion for art has been my guiding light, starting with the delicate lines of drawings and then immersing myself deeply in the world of painting. My creativity is expressed through a unique fusion of materials, preferring the use of recycled elements such as plastic sheets, wooden boards, and frames created with sheets, giving life to works that convey a story of rebirth and renewal. My artistic journey has gone through various stages: from the painting fervor that fueled me until 2004, to a temporary creative pause that characterized the subsequent period until 2021. During the course of 2023, I consciously embarked on a new chapter of my artistic expression, deliberately reintegrating figurative representation. In this phase, I have given prominence to forms and figures, accentuating their presence within my creations.
It is important to emphasize that this does not represent any abandonment of abstract art but rather a profound expansion of my artistic repertoire. In particular, I have begun an exciting exploration of digital abstract art, giving life to works that challenge the boundaries of the traditional medium. This new direction represents a further evolution of my artistic vision, a blend of tradition and innovation that translates into engaging and meaningful digital artworks.
