Moshe Sigel was born in Memphis Tennessee in the United States, was raised in London and Jerusa-lem, where he lives and creates today. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts in Bezalel Academy of Fine Art and Design (2019) including a student exchange program at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia (2017).
Sigel is an intuitive painter. “In my painting practice I do not have a plan or a blueprint for the painting in advance. I let the drama unfold before my eyes on the canvas. The only decisions I make visa a vis the painting beforehand are the size of the canvas and the base color that I will begin with. In ap-proaching a painting in this manner, I allow the creativity and freedom to take control. This style of painting enables me to be surprized by the final result. This approach also adds an element of the sub-conscious to the work. I like to call my paintings: “abstract landscapes”.
Sigel has presented at Michal House in Rechovot, Israel in the exhibition named “Shelf life” (2021) and has also participated at The Other Art Fair in Los Angeles.
Sigel lives with his wife and two children in Jerusalem.
