Mthuthuzeli (Sthu) Manaka, is a self-taught contemporary abstract portrait painter, born and raised in Soweto Johannesburg, based in Johannesburg South Africa, part of a collective fine art trio called “My Loves”. Sthu has had shows with galleries such as Kalashnikov, Rust en Vrede gallery, Youngblood CPT, and Was also part of My Loves & FNB Art Fair, in introducing the 2021 Art Prize winner. Currently I have a show with a Gallery in New York, begins on the 24th of June, running till the end of July.

“My work is about my personal obsession with the spirit realm, how the spirit moves, redefining masculinity, how to love without colour nor gender. How the spirit is honest, raw and faceless in its movement.”
