I am a Japanese tea-loving artist as well as the owner of an online shop related to tea and tea accessories.
The reason why I am focusing on the theme of “Moon” is specifically Japanese tea. In fact, my goal is for everyone, young and old, men and women, regardless of national boundaries, to enjoy tea. In this context, I thought that with art I could also enjoy tea with people who do not speak my language.
In the past, tea ceremonies in Japan were usually held at night. In the moonlight, everyone would gather around tea and delicious sweets. That's why I chose the moon as the protagonist of my works.
I decided to start painting the moon because I wished to have such a peaceful space in my home, regardless of where I am in the world or if there is a storm outside.
I would like everyone to live in peace by decorating their rooms with Oborozuki's various “moons.”
I would be happy if you could find time to have a cup of tea while looking at the moon.
It is not an easy task, but I hope the peoples of the world will have no conflicts.
