Meria's journey began in Fukushima, Japan, where she was born, and continued with a vibrant
childhood in Singapore, where her love for drawing animals and plants blossomed amidst the
tropical colors. Graduating from the School of Art and Design at the University of Tsukuba, she
embarked on a career at Suntory Holdings Ltd. Yet, her passion for candle making simmered
alongside her corporate duties, eventually leading her to leave her job after 7 and a half years to
pursue candle making full time. In 2020, she officially launched her candle brand, which not only
offers custom-made candles but also showcases her talent in “wax art,” utilizing wax from her
creations.

Today she is presenting a collection of work crafted from five distinct types of wax enriched with
natural resins. Within the realm of wax artistry, where temperature and timing dance in delicate
balance, lending nuance to each creation. Here, wax reveals its unique ability to express forms
unseen in traditional paintings. This artwork gently reminds us that candles offer more than
illumination; they invite us to revel in the warmth, translucency, texture, and captivating depth of
their artistry.
