Bio

“I’m a Scottish born contemporary artist who specialises in figurative work. I studied Illustration & Media design but found myself drawn more to painting. Early in my career I exhibited in Edinburgh alongside established artists such as Peter Howson, John Bellany and John Byrne. I have also exhibited in New York, Cannes and London. After having children, most of my time was taken up raising them, and I produced mainly commissions. Now they are a little older I have more time to explore what I want to create. I’m now at a stage in my life where I can focus on my art and push forward with it. It’s such an exciting time for me as I have so many paintings in my head that I can’t wait to put onto canvas! I really enjoy painting interesting faces and strong sexy women full of attitude and a slightly androgynous edge. My art is inspired by cine-ma, fashion, pop culture and music. For example I absolutely love the look of Baz Luhrmann and Tarantino films, where everything is slightly over the top, kitsch and cool. I also grew up loving Hitchcock films, Italian cinema and old MGM musicals, again I love the saturated colours and how joyfully over the top they were! Now I’m looking forward to exhibiting internationally and showing my work to a worldwide audience…I’m ready to go!”
