Bio
Miroslav Modev Miroslav Modev is a Swiss-Bulgarian painter. He was born in 1979 in Plovdiv, capital of culture in 2019. He studied fine arts in Sofia and Geneva where he is specialized in chalcography. In 2002, Miroslav Modev achieved a master’s degree in fine arts from the Art Academy Sofia where he studied in the masterclasses of Peter Chuklev. His work in chalcography brings together the past and the present by composing antique and modern themes. He is always looking for the finest lines, which are only allowed with this technique. Since 1997, he exhibits in galleries in Sofia, Plovdiv, Montreux, and Geneva including an exposition during the Salon du Livre, Geneva. In 2004, he participated at the contest “Le Locle Print, Triennale de l’estampe contemporaine”. Beside he created make-ups for different productions of well-known theatres in Geneva. In 2020, he found a new technique of acrylic paintings, which enlarges his artistic horizon. Nowadays, he lives and works as a teacher in Geneva.
