For me, this work feels like a meditation on primordial existence—not on what once happened, but on the strange persistence of being itself. Unlike many of my previous paintings, where memory appears fractured or wounded, here the atmosphere is lighter without becoming optimistic. The title itself, The Lightness of Whatever Was Existed, suggests that existence, once liberated from chronology and possession, acquires a weightless permanence.
The composition revolves around an almost embryonic luminosity. At the center, the white form is neither flower, shell, nor flame, yet it evokes all three simultaneously. It appears to emerge from darkness rather than illuminate it, as if light were being born from the accumulated sediment of forgotten realities. Around it, translucent layers, scratches, and dissolving textures behave like geological strata of consciousness. They do not conceal the image; they testify to its long becoming. The painting never settles into representation. Instead, it remains suspended between apparition and disappearance, inviting the viewer to inhabit uncertainty rather than resolve it. I also find a subtle phenomenological dimension. The work seems less concerned with depicting reality than with depicting the moment before perception organizes it. Forms hover at the threshold where they could become landscape, flower, face, or dream. In that sense, the painting approaches the experience of consciousness itself: a field where possibilities precede identities. The title's unconventional grammar strengthens rather than weakens this effect. Whatever Was Existed sounds almost like a translation from a language that predates ordinary logic. It resists grammatical closure just as the painting resists visual closure. It suggests that existence is not something completed in the past but something continually surviving its own becoming.
