Bio
I am a graphic designer with 20 years experience and an internationally acclaimed art director, winning global awards for the United Nations. I have a passion for collage art, design and typography.
The passion that drives my artwork today is the result of a range of influences over two decades. As an art student, I began to understand how imagination, freedom of style and artistic interpretation give rise to developing individual style and creation of stunning, unique pieces of art.
My NFT style, which I would describe as distressed, surrealist collage has emerged over time influenced along the way by artists El Lissitzky, Andy Warhol and designer Peter Saville. It is essentially minimalistic and ‘clean cut’ work. There is always a reason for the placement of each image and piece of text which together form purposefully crafted work.
The pieces are constructed from things I find interesting, it can be anything from a texture to a sculpture to a landscape or a twisted packet of sugar… then bringing it together in a harmonised and balanced collage, using the principles of the golden section, colour theory and dynamics of a page.
Arthedz is my current avatar collection created with a unifying theme – the human head. The use of the human form gives expression to the breadth of diverse thinking, imaginings, emotions, experiences and interpretations.
As I began to create various pieces of artwork using collage, mixed media, mark making, typography, painting and digital animation I developed the ‘head’ theme to bring cohesion to a wider collection with ‘the head at its heart’.
The use of a range of media makes it possible to use the theme and shape to collaborate with others who can provide their style of artwork to blend with the Arthedz theme.
Each piece of work is numbered and described in three key words. This is to give an indication to the viewer, but at the same time leaving each piece, as a collectible piece of NFT art, open to individual interpretation.
