It's been an untraditional journey finding my artistic passion. With no formal training and a diverse background, I use charcoal to capture my unique dreamscapes, surrealistic nightmares and dark visions. I want the viewer to feel the terror, the hopelessness, the pain, and all the emotion conveyed.
Mental illness features prominently in my work and I don't shy away from expressing what that feels like for me.
I don’t discuss much of the specifics in my individual drawings nor do I name my paintings because I want it to be an emotional experience without my ascribed meaning interfering with the work's impact.
Art has been both a cathartic escape and a burning compulsion in a world filled with the profound darkness that is depicted on paper.
