I am Ebtisam Al Mattar from Kuwait. My name, “Ebtisam” translates to “smile” in Arabic, hence the optimism that resonates in myself towards how I truly look at this world.

I consider myself as a self-taught artist in my earlier age, who’s over the years developed more skills through the workshops I have attended with prestigious art mentors. My canvas was my haven to express the flowing emotions I carry, in order to break all boundaries surrounding me. With the aid of my canvas and tools, I liberate my soul and emotions.

Love, kindness, courage and freedom are values that represents my work. My inspiration is the beauty of the universe and the diversity it encompasses. Despite the calm appearance, my can-vases arise loud and open questions that can be explored by tapping into your deepest, most genuine emotions.

Just like a small flower that tries to bloom despite the cruelty of nature, a small bird spreading its wings fearlessly in the horizon and the sea’s coherent waves approaching the shore, my art-work proves how we are all connected, like how nature by its simplest form is in absolute syn-chronicity.
