Artistic Statement.
Since I was a child, I have always been concerned about what others think of me when I do something. I would worry about whether I was deviating from others, whether I was right or wrong, whether I was good or not, whether I was happier than others. This experience made me feel that the act of “transmitting happiness” is a religious existence, like blind faith, especially in this day and age when we see more and more information about other people through various media. I thought that the situation of our society is one of emptiness without substance, where people transmit how happy they are regardless of their personal intentions, such as “having eaten good food,” “spending time with someone,” or “having gone shopping. What is the individual as seen from the society of others? What is the society of others as seen from the individual? Through the act of ”seeing,“ which is a bi-directional relationship between the inside and outside that is uniquely human, I create paintings every day while expanding my own interpretation of the theme of ”portrait of digital society,“ in which ”the blank space between the individual and society“ and ”the sacred, the sublime, and the void“ are combined and formed, and continue to expand.
