Bio

Susan Diamond Susan Diamond was born in Montgomery Massachusetts 1965 the 4th of 5 child from first generation American born Polish and Russian immigrants Joseph “ Biff” Mihalski and Muriel Rosenthal. Mrs Shuman, Susan's first art teacher at junior High School was first to recognize “ The Diamond ’ s” prolific talent and nurtured this to the best of her ability and to which the gift helped Susan at The Boston School of Fashion, but unprepared to have her wings clipped of her unique style by convention left and went travelling to Europe. Settling eventually in London where she met singer and club host Mark Charles. They fell in love and are still together to this day 26 years on. Susan painted upstairs in The Sir Richard Steeles pub in Chalk Farm London where she produced the legendary show “ Susan Diamond ’ s All New Adoption Agency ” at Decima Gallery, Bermondsey, London. Later it was with Mark they created the now Cult fashion glam Punk label Charles of London. Now with Susan ’ s first love, painting is back at the forefront of her creativity. She ’ s turning heads and creating quite a stir in the art scene, these last 6 years, selling her large acrylic canvases, oozing attitude with florescent paint gold and silver ’ s punk Picasso spat alien figures and city-scapes and more onto willing canvas, spreading subliminal messages and adorning walls in Galleries and homes alike. Susan has had solo exhibitions in London, Hastings, Berlin, France and Italy. More recently during Lockdown Susan kept creative as there were no exhibitions booked in gallery spaces she decided to create a series of Exterior Art Photos, a “ Gallery in the Woods ” which can translate into any outdoor space along with commissions and new works and features in on-line galleries. Susan also had 2 very large billboards on Old Street, Shoreditch, London as part of the Art Outside series curated by Outside_thezone.
