Alla Laycock I was born in Ukraine and from my youth I collected albums on art, but never thought I could be an artist. I am a trained Engineering System Analyst, and only began to paint when I moved to England, several years ago. Art helped me through the stress of moving, separation from family and friends and helped me to new conditions. For me, art id an expression of my inner world, it helps me to communicate, fight stress and loneliness. It is why I decided to study the BA (Hons) Fine Art at Hull University. I am currently a student and I have a progressed in painting from literal styles t exploring abstract mark marketing techniques across digital and analogue platforms. This is including the use of acrylic and mixed media, collage and Virtual Reality using Tilt Brush. For me, virtual reality is a method of self-expression with is ability to create 3D multimedia immersive response using music, sound and photography complimented by the mark making abilities of VR programs. Combinations of these environments offer alternative abstract qualities wich allow me to transcribe my experiences of physical and emotional environments into works. I draw my inspiration from nature. My works are contemplation of the beauty of our planet, it is a narrative bout the uniqueness and incomprehensibility of the Earth.
